Bob Farnsworth , Hummingbird President, has been speaking before Ad Clubs all across the country for several years. At the AAF National Convention in June, Bob was part of a panel discussion entitled "Music Marketing & It's Ability to Reach Target Audiences Emotionally." Alongside top executives in the industry, Bob discussed the importance of using music in advertising and its ability to effectively brand the product.

Examples from a speech entitled "Hearing is Believing" showed the same film footage with different music, which helped to make the point that music influences the viewer's emotional response more so than the picture itself. Other examples demonstrated the power of music to elevate or cheapen film, regardless of the film quality.

Bob was also part of another workshop at the convention entitled "Applying Technology to the Creative Process." Hummingbird has teamed up with Steve Schklair of Cobalt Entertainment to demonstrate some of the latest technology in the world of 3D film and 3D sound. Attendees wore paper 3D glasses and watched exclusive, high-action digital 3D footage from the Super Bowl. The audio was mastered in Hummingbird3D™ , a process which "dimensionalises" sound out of regular stereo speakers. While it doesn't try to replicate 5.1 Surround

Sound, Hummingbird3D™ brings audio to life, detaching it from speakers and bringing sound into the room. For example, one instrument may sound as though it is right next to the listener's left ear, while others may sound farther off to the right.

The workshops were such a success that the AAF asked Hummingbird and Cobalt to demonstrate 3D footage with Hummingbird3D™ before the entire convention. In the meantime, Bob and the Hummingbird staff continue entertaining and informing Ad Clubs nationwide with the "Hearing is Believing" speech. Other high-demand topics include "Back to Branding," and "Think tanking the Internet for the Creative Industry."
